Since winning his election in 2014 by flipping a Senate seat previously held by a Democrat, Sen. Steve Daines has distinguished himself as a strong conservative and a strong supporter of the U.S.-Israel alliance. He was an eloquent opponent of Obama's Iran deal and an enthusiastic backer of anti-BDS legislation. Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, and the rest of the Democratic establishment worked hard to convince failed presidential candidate Gov. Steve Bullock to challenge Daines. Now the showdown between the two Steves will be one of the critical races that determines which party will control the U.S. Senate next year.
